The kind of stories we tell
Literary fiction about people living through real trouble — friendship, memory, loss, stubborn love, and the inner voice that helps you keep going. Wonder stays quiet. Humor stays dry.
A novel by W.G. Docent
Silas and the Wizard
An illustrated story about ordinary days that tilt toward the impossible — told with black-line wit, warm friendship, and real life struggles. There's also a couple of cats with very strong opinions.
Silas has a Wizard friend
A short introduction to Silas, Wizard, and the story. Sound on.
Wizard Hat Books
Wizard Hat Books is the imprint behind W.G. Docent's illustrated fiction — stories told in plainspoken prose and black-line artwork, where character, thought, and the harder parts of ordinary life matter as much as what happens next.
How we write
Clear, direct prose with room for opinion, doubt, and the things people think but rarely say out loud. Each book is illustrated throughout in a simple black-line style that keeps the focus on the characters and the moment.
